D	David Querci on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Chiesa ben curata, accogliente e sempre profumata. Le liturgie sono curate nei dettagli ed il parroco si attiene alle norme previste dalla Chiesa. L'edificio è un pregevole esempio di croce commissa in stile romanico, di cui si è conservato molto. Church well organized, friendly and always fragrant. The liturgies are treated in detail and the pastor adheres to the norms foreseen by the Church. The building is a fine example of a commissa cross in Romanesque style, of which much has been preserved.

L’edificio è molto bello e in stile romanico e molto ben conservato e curato. Beautiful, welcoming and always well-kept church. The functions are studied in detail and the parish priest complies with the rules laid down by the Vatican. The building is very beautiful and in Romanesque style and very well preserved and cared for.

Sulla facciata, sopra il portale d'accesso con archivolto decorato a girali, si trova anche un rosone a forma di occhio con quattro lobi. L'edificio fu costruito senz'altro prima del IX secolo anche se non fu completato prima dell'XI secolo. The church is in Romanesque style. The plan has a Latin cross and a single nave. On the façade, above the entrance portal with arched decorated with swirls, there is also an eye-shaped rose window with four lobes. The building was certainly built before the 9th century although it was not completed before the 11th century.

Fu ricostruito nel 1189 dai maestri Barone Amico e Bono da Calci, come attesta l'epigrafe incisa sull'intonaco del transetto sinistro. La matrice pisana è apprezzabile sia nel tipo di decorazione della chiesa sia nella scelta dell'impianto a navata unica con transetto. La facciata è aperta da un portale fiancheggiato da due colonne, i cui capitelli sorreggono due leoni; l'architrave è sormontato da un archivolto bicromo decorato a girali. Nella parte superiore della facciata c'è un occhio quadrilobato. All'interno, si trova un fonte battesimale ottagonale, tardomedievale. The church, mentioned since 923, probably of early medieval origin, is one of the most interesting Romanesque buildings in the province of Livorno. It was rebuilt in 1189 by the masters Barone Amico and Bono da Calci, as attested by the epigraph engraved on the plaster of the left transept. The Pisan matrix is appreciable both in the type of decoration of the church and in the choice of the single nave layout with transept. The facade is opened by a portal flanked by two columns, whose capitals support two lions; the architrave is surmounted by a two-tone archivolt decorated with spirals. In the upper part of the facade there is a quadrilobed eye. Inside, there is an octagonal late medieval baptismal font.
