★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La Chiesa di S. Antonio Abate, che sorge nella parte alta del paese a ridosso del castello edificato dai Roero, è proprio all’imbocco di gran parte dei sentieri naturalistici che si trovano all’interno del territorio dell’Eco Museo delle Rocche
La chiesa, probabilmente successiva all’adiacente castello (fatto erigere dai Roero nel 1363), risale al XVI secolo, poiché risulta esistente nel 1585 con una struttura a tre navate, mentre il campanile non era presente poiché le campane erano collocate sulla poco distante Torre Civica.
Nei secoli successivi XVII-XVIII la chiesa ha subito rimaneggiamenti e nel 1814 viene rifatta la facciata. Nel 2019 la chiesa è stata totalmente restaurata all’interno che oggi si mostra moderno e funzionale, ma decisamente più moderno e “freddo”.
Ad ogni modo dateci un’occhiata, magari prima di godervi una bella e salutare passeggiata tra colline e castagni secolari
