★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Luminosa e sempre molto pulita. Da visitare la cappella di Santa Rita e la Cappella dedicata al Beato Gabriele Maria Allegra. Negli altari laterali si possono ammirare tele di ottima fattura. Una preghiera nella cappella del Santo Patrono per finire la visita

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista è il duomo di San Giovanni la Punta e si trova sulla piazza centrale, la piazza Lucia Mangano.
Una Chiesa veramente stupenda, non sapevo più dove guardare.
Ci sono un sacco di cappelle, altari, dipinti e statue.
Si nota molto la profonda devozione che viene riservata a Sant'Agata, Santa Patrona della vicina Catania
L'ostia consacrata viene conservata in un tabernacolo di un Altare nella navata di destra

A truly beautiful Church, I didn't know where to look anymore.
There are lots of chapels, altars, paintings and statues.
You notice very deep devotion that is reserved for St. Agatha, patron saint of nearby Catania
The consecrated host is kept in a tabernacle of an Altar in the right aisle

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La chiesa dovrebbe essere un luogo di agregazione ed un luogo dove ogni cristiano debba sentirsi libero di esprire la loro fede ... ma forse per la parrocchia di San Giovanni la Punta cosi come per il Santuario di Valverde non è cosi .
Oggi mi sono recato presso le parocche sopra mensionate nella prima personalmente , nella seconda telefonicamente per chiedere di Battezzare mia nipote visto il dinniego a svolgere la funzione di mattina (visto che la madrina il pomeriggio non avrebbe potuto essere presente al battesimo per problemi lavorativi. ) ricevuto dalle chiese della mia zona (Barriera) . In entrambe le chiese mi èstato negato il diritto di dare un sacramento a mia nipote e mi è stato risposto che non si battezano persone che vengono da comuni differnti rispetto a quelli dove sono ubicare le chiese. Questo per regola della parocchia e non della curia. La cosa più oltraggiosa mi è stata detta dal Parroco di Valverde il quale mi ha detto che se la parocchie di Barriera non mi sono venute incontro è stato solo perchè non sono assiduo frequentatore della chiesa e quindi il parroco non mi conosce e non fà strappi alle regole .
Non commento quanto accaduto perchè potrei utilizzare delle parole poco gentili e non è il caso e soprattuto il luogo
sono sinceramente deluso dal comportamento avuto da queste due parrochie e da chi le gestisce . In quanto siamo tutti i figli di dio è nessun ministro di dio dovrebbe avere il poteter di negare un sacramento ad un altro essere umano.
Se le chiese si svuotano forse la colpa e di questi parroci che anzichè accogliere discriminano e vietano .
