The 3 stars obviously not for the church, in fact our churches more or less always have peculiarities that make them precious, but because I had the impression that you need maintenance treatments that remove the patina that makes the whole unpleasantly "opaque".

La chiesa detta anche della Nunziatella, ha origine da un edificio religioso bizantino risalente al VI secolo , e del quale rimangono un affresco raffigurante un giovane Gesù e mosaici a pavimento. La navata longitudinale ed il cappellone sono invece tipici di edifici costruiti in Sicilia fra il XII e il XIII sec. Dopo un lungo periodo di abbandono e a seguito del devastante terremoto del 1693 fu ricostruita e restaurata con una facciata in stile neoclassico e terminata alla fine del 1700. Madonna dell'Itria or "the Virgin of the water", this name because there have been human settlements in the area since ancient times due to the numerous water sources. The church also called della Nunziatella, originates from a Byzantine religious building dating back to the sixth century, and of which only a fresco depicting a young Jesus and floor mosaics remain. The longitudinal nave and the chapel are instead typical of buildings built in Sicily between the 12th and 13th centuries. After a long period of neglect and following the devastating earthquake of 1693 it was rebuilt and restored with a neoclassical facade and finished at the end of the 1700s.
