Sur la place, bars et glaciers servaient des gens relaxés et satisfaits qui écoutaient de la musique live. Les vacances!!!! Exterior well decorated, as usual during the holidays, in this nice little cave village. In the square, bars and ice cream parlors served relaxed and satisfied people who listened to live music. L	Livio M3 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Una chiesa ricca di storia.La costruzione fu iniziata nel 1500 per volere del Barone Montaperto e fu dedicata a Santa Venera, la Patrona del comune di Grotte. Tuttavia la parte riguardante la cupola rimase incompleta. Degli ornamenti originari della Chiesa in stile rinascimentale resta solo un mobile con decorazioni cinquecentesche. Al suo interno si trovano interessanti opere come il monumento del Duca Tommaso Sanfilippo e il Fonte Battesimale sovrastato da una tela di Fra Felice di Sambuca del 1785 che raffigura proprio Santa Venera. Al centro della navata si possono notare due cappelle: una dedicata al Santissimo Sacramento, l’altra detta del Rosario. In quest’ultima è contenuta anche l’Urna portata in processione nella settimana Santa e il sarcofago di Padre Vinti, prete umile che con un sorriso riusciva a convertire anche il cuore più duro. However, the part concerning the dome remained incomplete. Of the original Renaissance-style church ornaments, only a piece of furniture with sixteenth-century decorations remains. Inside there are interesting works such as the monument of the Duke Tommaso Sanfilippo and the Baptismal font dominated by a canvas by Fra Felice di Sambuca from 1785 which depicts Santa Venera. At the center of the nave there are two chapels: one dedicated to the Blessed Sacrament, the other called the Rosary. The latter also contains the Urna carried in procession in Holy Week and the sarcophagus of Padre Vinti, a humble priest who with a smile managed to convert even the hardest heart.
