★ ★ ★ ★ ★ sono nato in bari 69 anni fa alla tenera età di 3-4 anni nell'oratorio di quella chiesa c'era un asilo diretto dalle suore appena fuori da quella chiesa vi erano due leoni in pietra e quando al pomeriggio ho la mamma o il babbo venivano a prendermi mi facevano salire su quel leone e sognavo di cavalcarlo MI NANCA TANTO LA MIA CITTA' NON SOLO NEL MIO CUORE ho passato la mia infanzia in quella città che porto dentro il cuore PENSATE che mio bisnonno MONTRONE MICHELE calzolaio e pittore dilettante consegno' alla diocesi affreschi tuttora esistenti nella DIOCESI orgoglio e amore che ha tramandato a tutti noi ciao bella bari ti sono vicino col pensiero e con il cuore ciao

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ In una città come la nostra, vittima delle peggiori nefandezze speculative, e di orrori architettonici di palazzinari senza scrupoli, le poche testimonianze storiche rimaste in piedi sono le chiese, e questa di S.Francesco è una di queste. Consiglio di andare ad ammirare la bella architettura e il prospetto con colonne dell'entrata restaurato recentemente; in una bacheca al lato destro dell'entrata sono documentate le varie fasi del restauro.
In a city like ours, victim of the worst speculative atrocities, and of architectural horrors of unscrupulous builders, the few remaining historical testimonies are the churches, and this of St. Francis is one of them. I suggest going to admire the beautiful architecture and the recently restored entrance with columns; the various phases of the restoration are documented on a bulletin board on the right side of the entrance.
