★ ★ ★ ★ ★ In località Pian del Toro, nella valle della Limentra, esisteva un oratorio già dipendente dall’abbazia di Fontana Taona e poi di proprietà della famiglia Pazzi di Firenze. Questo edificio di culto, trovandosi sul confine delle due diocesi era stato oggetto di lite tra il vescovo Alamanni e l’arcivescovo di Bologna Ricci. Per assicurare il servizio religioso agli abitanti della vallata, ed in particolare a quelli del borgo di Monachino (700mt slm), il vescovo Scipione de’ Ricci provvide ad erigere in parrocchia questo oratorio dedicandolo a S. Stefano papa e martire (257 260) e sottoponendolo alla pieve di Treppio. Nel 1838, a cura del pievano di Valdibure, fu costruita la nuova chiesa in località Monachino come testimoniato da un documento d’archivio di recente scoperto che viene a correggere l’anno 1803 riportato dall’Annuario diocesano del 1943. Al posto dell’antico oratorio vi è oggi un tabernacolo con una lapide che lo ricorda.
In Pian del Toro, in the Limentra valley, there was an oratory already dependent on the Abbey of Fontana Taona and then owned by the Pazzi family of Florence. This building of worship, being on the border of the two dioceses, had been the subject of a dispute between Bishop Alamanni and the Archbishop of Bologna Ricci. To ensure the religious service to the inhabitants of the valley, and in particular those of the village of Monachino (700m above sea level), Bishop Scipione de 'Ricci provided to erect this oratory in the parish church dedicated to St. Stephen the Pope and martyr (257 260) subjecting it to the parish church of Treppio. In 1838, by the parish priest of Valdibure, the new church was built in Monachino as evidenced by a recently discovered archive document that comes to correct the year 1803 reported by the diocesan yearbook of 1943. In place of the ancient today there is a tabernacle with a memorial plaque.
