★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Notizie storiche Non si ha notizia certa della sua fondazione, tuttavia essa esisteva già nel XVII secolo, come risulta dai registri parrocchiali di S. Nicola di Sales del 1705. Conosciuta anche con il nome di Santa Caterina del Clero, era una chiesa collegiata, dove si riuniva il clero guidato dall’Arciprete. Divenuta chiesa ricettizia in quanto possedeva numerosi beni provenienti da lasciti di cittadini da devolvere al basso clero, nel 1867, in seguito alla legge di soppressione dei beni ecclesiastici, tali beni furono devoluti al demanio e venduti. Da qui la sua decadenza e l’abbandono: venne chiusa dopo il crollo della volta egregiamente affrescata. Fu riaperta nel 1957 per volontà del sac. Mons. D. Michele Dionesalvi. I dipinti che l’abbellivano furono purtroppo trafugati. Descrizione Chiesa a croce latina a tre navate. Sulle colonne sono impressi i segni della Passione. Sotto l’abside coro ligneo settecentesco di pregevole fattura con lo stemma del Clero di Acri. Altare maggiore in marmo con Crocifisso ligneo realizzato probabilmente nell’Ottocento. Ai lati dell’abside lapidi sepolcrali dei baroni Jannuzzo e di Joseph Sprovieri.
 Historical information There is no certain information about its foundation, however it already existed in the seventeenth century, as shown by the parish registers of S. Nicola di Sales of 1705. Also known by the name of Santa Caterina del Clero, it was a collegiate church, where the clergy led by the Archpriest met. It became a reception church as it possessed numerous assets deriving from legacies of citizens to be donated to the lower clergy, in 1867, following the law of suppression of ecclesiastical assets, these assets were donated to the state property and sold. Hence its decline and abandonment: it was closed after the collapse of the beautifully frescoed vault. It was reopened in 1957 by the will of the sac. Mons. D. Michele Dionesalvi. The paintings that embellished it were unfortunately stolen. Description Latin cross church with three naves. The signs of the Passion are imprinted on the columns. Under the apse, an eighteenth-century wooden choir of exquisite workmanship with the coat of arms of the Clergy of Acre. Main altar in marble with wooden crucifix probably made in the nineteenth century. On the sides of the apse sepulchral stones of the barons Jannuzzo and Joseph Sprovieri.
