★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La chiesa di Sant’Antonio di Padova, comunemente nota ai floridiani come chiesa di “sant’Antonino” è una delle più belle di Floridia.
Dal 13 dicembre 1990 la venerazione e le funzioni sono state sospese e spostate in chiesa madre a causa dei danni subiti dal terremoto del 1990.
Dal mese di aprile 2014 è iniziata una continua attività di pulizia e ripristino della chiesa di sant’Antonio che ha portato alla riapertura del tempio il 18 gennaio 2015, con la benedizione solenne impartita dal Vicario Generale dell’Arcidiocesi di Siracusa Mons.Sebastiano Amenta.
Due sono i santi particolarmente venerati in questa chiesa: sant’Antonio e soprattutto san Sebastiano, il cui culto è molto radicato nel popolo floridiano.
Strettamente collegata alla chiesa è la Confraternita di Gesù e Maria che ha sede in questa chiesa e che da sempre si è occupata dei culti e delle feste religiose che si svolgevano nella rettoria.
The church of Sant’Antonio of Padua, commonly known to the Floridians as the church of “sant’Antonino” is one of the most beautiful of Floridia.
From December 13, 1990, worship and functions were suspended and moved to the mother church due to the damage suffered by the 1990 earthquake.
From April 2014 a continuous cleaning and restoration activity began of the church of Saint Anthony which led to the reopening of the temple on 18 January 2015, with the solemn blessing imparted by the Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Syracuse Mons.Sebastiano Amenta.
There are two saints particularly venerated in this church: Saint Anthony and especially Saint Sebastian, whose cult is deeply rooted in the Floridan people.
Closely connected to the church is the Confraternity of Jesus and Mary which is based in this church and which has always dealt with the cults and religious festivals that took place in the rectory.
