Si parte da fuori Gemona si prende il sentiero dopo il guado e si prosegue fino alla sella lì si apre la vallata dove c'è la chiesetta. Da ricordare che la strada è chiusa alle macchine si va solo a piedi la strada non è asfaltatama molto lenta si può salire anche con i passeggini è quasi tutta all' ombra è bellissimo chi la vuole provare rimarrà affascinato da questo luogo Self. La grande radura che la circonda è impressionante e si capisce perché questo posto fu scelto da Monicelli per il suo capolavoro La grande guerra. Proseguendo a sinistra in salita in pochi km si raggiunge il forte di Monte Ercole. Merita una sosta per entrare nelle gallerie o salire sul tetto del bunker per godere di una magnifica vista sul Tagliamento ed i suoi ponti, la città di Gemona e giù giù tutta la pianura friulana. L'anello fa parte del giro per bike del laghetto Minisini che si può apprezzare in mezzo alla vegetazione dall'alto dello stesso sentiero. Gli accessi e i percorsi non sono sempre segnalati bene. Primavera ed Autunno le stagioni migliori per godersi i contrasti tra i colori dei boschi e i prati. Il terremoto del 76 l'ha danneggiata pesantemente ma oggi è visibile in tutta la sua bellezza. Purtroppo manca ancora la ricostruzione del convento adiacente. Il posto é veramente straordinario per passeggiate, escursioni e tour fotografici. A beautiful church dates back to the 13th century and is located on the route of an ancient path. The earthquake of 76 damaged it heavily but today it is visible in all its beauty. Unfortunately the reconstruction of the adjacent convent is still missing. The place is truly extraordinary for walks, excursions and photographic tours.
