Si tratta di un edificio risalente agli anni 1882-1883, costruito in sostituzione di una chiesa più antica, sempre col titolo di San Silvestro, che sorgeva qualche metro più a ovest, verso il dirupo, e di cui rimangono una acquasantiera ed un capitello medievali in pietra scolpita, entrambi inglobati nel tempio attuale, riutilizzati rispettivamente come fonte battesimale e acquasantiera. Anche un grande quadro della Madonna del Rosario, con i santi Domenico, Caterina, Silvestro (quest'ultimo raffigurato con il paese di Ripattoni tra le braccia, ed il cartiglio "S. Silvester P. Ripactonis Patronus"), recante la data 1756 (che però è forse l'anno di un rimaneggiamento) e appartenente alla vecchia chiesa, è oggi custodito nell'edificio ottocentesco. Quest'ultimo è a navata unica, con soffitto a volta ribassata; degli altari laterali, demoliti, restano le nicchie con alcune statue di santi, mentre sono integralmente conservati gli affreschi degli anni '30: il catino absidale è decorato da immagini del Cristo e dello Spirito Santo fra gli angeli, la volta della navata ha un dipinto, recante la firma del pittore teramano Ugo Sforza e la data 1937, con un santo vescovo, presumibilmente Giustino, che veglia su Ripattoni dal cielo. At the foot of the main tower, there is the church of S. Silvestro and S. Giustino. It is a building dating back to the years 1882-1883, built to replace an older church, still with the title of San Silvestro, which stood a few meters further west, towards the cliff, and of which remain a medieval holy water font and a capital in carved stone, both incorporated in the present temple, reused respectively as a baptismal font and holy water font. Also a large painting of the Madonna del Rosario, with the saints Domenico, Caterina, Silvestro (the latter depicted with the village of Ripattoni in his arms, and the scroll "S. Silvester P. Ripactonis Patronus"), bearing the date 1756 ( which, however, is perhaps the year of a reorganization) and belonging to the old church, is now kept in the nineteenth-century building. The latter has a single nave with a lowered vaulted ceiling; of the side altars, demolished, the niches remain with some statues of saints, while the frescoes of the 1930s are fully preserved: the apse is decorated with images of Christ and the Holy Spirit among the angels, the vault of the nave has a painting , bearing the signature of the Teramo painter Ugo Sforza and the date 1937, with a holy bishop, presumably Giustino, who watches over Ripattoni from the sky.

Il suo nome deriva da Ripa Actonis, cioè Rupe di Attone, riferendosi al principe longobardo che aveva numerosi possedimenti tra Teramo e Bellante. Per lungo tempo sotto il dominio degli Acquaviva, il suo assetto è di tipo medievale e conserva le caratteristiche salienti delle sue origini. Della parte incastellata è ancora ben conservata una possente torre in pietre e laterizio, probabilmente trecentesca, a base quadrangolare e basamento a scarpa. Ai suoi piedi è la Chiesa di S.Silvestro e S.Giustino. Si tratta di un edificio costruito nel 1883 in sostituzione dell’antica Chiesa di S.Silvestro che sorgeva appena più ad ovest, nei pressi dell’attuale belvedere. Ha copertura a capanna ed in facciata si apre un semplice portale ad architrave piano incorniciato in laterizio, sormontato da un grande oculo semicircolare. All’ingresso del borgo ci si imbatte nel possente Palazzo Saliceti, proprietà della famiglia materna e luogo di nascita del giureconsulto e patriota Aurelio Saliceti (1804–1862), mentre nella parte Nord sopravvive tra le case un torrione rotondo in pietra appartenuto alle antiche fortificazioni. Appena fuori il piccolo borgo è la medievale Chiesa di S.Maria in Herulis. Ripattoni is a fraction of Bellante (Teramo) located at m.211 s.l.m. on the hills of the left side of the Tordino river. Its name derives from Ripa Actonis, meaning Rupe di Attone, referring to the Lombard prince who had numerous estates between Teramo and Bellante. For a long time under the dominion of the Acquaviva, its structure is of medieval type and preserves the salient features of its origins. Of the framed part is still well preserved a powerful tower in stone and brick, probably from the 14th century, with a quadrangular base and a shoe base. At its feet is the Church of S. Silvestro and S. Giustino. It is a building built in 1883 to replace the ancient Church of S. Silvestro that stood just to the west, near the current lookout. It has a gabled roof and a simple portal with a flat architrave framed in brick opens onto the façade, surmounted by a large semicircular oculus. At the entrance of the village you will come across the mighty Palazzo Saliceti, property of the maternal family and birthplace of the jurist and patriot Aurelio Saliceti (1804–1862), while in the northern part survives among the houses a round stone tower belonging to the ancient fortifications . Just outside the small village is the medieval Church of S. Maria in Herulis.
