★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La chiesa - recentemente restaurata - è la più antica del paese (XIII Sec). Il portale, in stile romanico, è molto simile a quello della chiesa di S.Maria a Casalciprano, paese a pochi chilometri da Castropignano.
Subito a monte della chiesa si trovava un tempo il convento di S. Martino, di cui restano poche tracce murarie.
All'interno della chiesa si conserva una scultura litea di S.Michele Arcangelo, il cui culto era praticato dalla popolazione locale con una processione durante la quale la statua veniva trasportata in una grotta poco lontana dall'abitato.
La chiesa del Santissimo Salvatore attualmente è chiusa e non viene utilizzata per le funzioni religiose. Per visitarla bisogna informarsi presso il municipio.
 The church - recently restored - is the oldest in the town (XIII century). The portal, in Romanesque style, is very similar to that of the church of S. Maria in Casalciprano, a town a few kilometers from Castropignano.
Immediately upstream of the church was once the convent of S. Martino, of which only a few traces of walls remain.
Inside the church there is a litea sculpture of St. Michael the Archangel, whose cult was practiced by the local population with a procession during which the statue was transported to a cave not far from the town.
The church of the Santissimo Salvatore is currently closed and is not used for religious services. To visit it you need to inquire at the town hall.
