Dopo i due terremoti (l'ultimo nel 1918) la chiesa è andata distrutta, anche in periodo di guerra non ha passato dei bei momenti, è stata ricostruita ed edificata dalla comunità scillese sia italiana sia americana (scillesi emigrati in America in tempo di guerra), all'esterno della chiesa infatti è presente un cartello che indica l'elenco di tutti i fedeli che hanno contribuito in maniera pratica alla sua ricostruzione.
A simple church but with a moving history.
After the two earthquakes (the last in 1918) the church was destroyed, even during the war it did not have a good time, it was rebuilt and built by the Scillese community both Italian and American (Scillian emigrated to America in wartime ), outside the church there is in fact a sign indicating the list of all the faithful who have contributed in a practical way to its reconstruction.
