★ ★ ★ ★ ★ L' antica Chiesa di Carano e' posta in posizione elevata che domina entrambi i nuclei storici del paese, Radoe e Doss e tutti i paesi della Valle di Fiemme fino a Tesero.
Si dice sia stata edificata su un antico luogo di sosta degli antichi abitanti nomadi della Valle, i cacciatori di epoca mesolitica dei quali si sono trovate tracce su tutto il
Lagorai.
La magnifica Chiesa, dal classico orientamento Est - Ovest, risale al 11° secolo
nel suo nucleo piu' antico e presenta numerosi ampliamenti successivi. Vale una
visita sia per la sua architettura che per i pregevoli altari lignei ed i pregevoli quadri
della Scuola Pittorica Fiemmese in essa conservati. La copertura del tetto e' in
tradizionali scandole in larice fatte a mano. Insomma, la Chiesa di San Nicolo' a Carano e' una vera opera d' arte!
Vi si accede attraverso due ampie e ripide scalinate ma c'e' anche un comodo e panoramico accesso per disabili. C'e' un ampio parcheggio proprio sotto la Chiesa.

The ancient Church of Carano is placed in an elevated position that dominates both the historical centers of the town, Radoe and Doss and all the villages of the Valle di Fiemme up to Tesero.
It is said to have been built on an ancient resting place of the ancient nomadic inhabitants of the Valley, the hunters of the Mesolithic period of which traces have been found on the whole
Lagorai.
The magnificent Church, with its classic East - West orientation, dates back to the 11th century
in its most ancient nucleus and presents numerous successive expansions. Worth one
visit both for its architecture and for its fine wooden altars and valuable paintings
of the Fiemmese Pictorial School preserved in it. Roof covering is in
traditional handmade larch shingles. In short, the Church of San Nicolo 'in Carano is a true work of art!
It is accessed through two wide and steep staircases but there is also a comfortable and panoramic access for the disabled. There is ample parking right under the church.
