S	Sissy Sissy on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La Chiesa di San Michele Arcangelo di Sorbolongo è ad aula unica ed è stata costruita dalle fondamenta ad iniziare dall'anno 1791 per opera del parroco don Tommaso Ricci, su progetto di Giambattista Dal Re, originario di Cesena. La chiesa ha quattro altari laterali ed è abbellita, lungo le pareti, da statue di gesso rappresentanti le virtù. Il primo altare a destra ci mostra una interessante Madonna del Rosario. Il secondo altare di destra conserva una crocifissione con San Nicola da Bari e San Sebastiano, opera seicentesca di autore ignoto. Il primo altare di sinistra serba il quadro, di modesto formato, della Madonna del Patrocinio. Il dipinto è contenuto in una struttura di marmo a mo’ di cappella che gli fa da cornice. Il secondo altare a sinistra ha visto sostituita la statua dedicata a San Giuseppe con una pala del noto pittore contemporaneo Bruno D'Arcevia, intitolata "Fuga in Egitto". La chiesa contiene, sulla cantoria, un importante organo del XIX secolo, opera dei fratelli Martinelli di Umbertine in provincia di Perugia; lo strumento necessiterebbe di un accurato restauro. La porta che si apre a fianco dell'entrata principale c’introduce nell’oratorio di San Giuseppe, dove, dopo il recente sisma, si celebrano le funzioni. In questa cappella sono conservate alcune pitture del XVII secolo, appartenute alla chiesa precedente. I dipinti, di modeste dimensioni, raffigurano Sant'Emidio che sorregge nella mano sinistra il castello di Sorbolongo, il ritratto di un prelato e lo stendardo di San Michele Arcangelo e il drago. The Church of San Michele Arcangelo di Sorbolongo has a single hall and was built from the foundations starting from the year 1791 by the parish priest Don Tommaso Ricci, on a project by Giambattista Dal Re, originally from Cesena. The church has four side altars and is embellished, along the walls, with plaster statues representing the virtues. The first altar on the right shows us an interesting Madonna del Rosario. The second altar on the right preserves a crucifixion with San Nicola da Bari and San Sebastiano, a seventeenth-century work by an unknown author. The first altar on the left holds the modest-sized painting of the Madonna del Patrocinio. The painting is contained in a chapel-like marble structure that frames it. The second altar on the left has seen the statue dedicated to Saint Joseph replaced with an altarpiece by the well-known contemporary painter Bruno D'Arcevia, entitled "Flight into Egypt". The church contains, on the choir, an important organ of the nineteenth century, the work of the Martinelli brothers from Umbertine in the province of Perugia; the instrument would need careful restoration. The door that opens next to the main entrance introduces us to the oratory of San Giuseppe, where, after the recent earthquake, the services are celebrated. In this chapel are preserved some paintings of the seventeenth century, which belonged to the previous church. The paintings, of modest size, depict Sant'Emidio holding the castle of Sorbolongo in his left hand, the portrait of a prelate and the banner of San Michele Arcangelo and the dragon.

Particolari le decorazioni e le statue che escono dalle nicchie. Da visitare sicuramente. Posta in un punto centrale del borgo. Beautiful village church, neoclassical style with beautiful colors, it would seem from the nineteenth century. Particular the decorations and the statues that come out of the niches. Definitely worth visiting. Located in a central point of the village.
