Nel 1543 la chiesa figura in rovina, ristrutturata, si trovava ancora in pessime condizioni alla fine dell'800 quando è ricostruita dalle fondamenta. La chiesa presenta un'aula unica con cappelle laterali e termina con un presbiterio con abside semicircolare. Sulla semplice facciata è leggibile la data "1893" mentre sul fianco sinistro è riportata quella del "1778" mentre un rosone sovrasta il portale di ingresso . All'interno una serie di lesene con capitelli corinzi scandisce l'aula e le cappelle laterali. La navata in ordine dorico è coperta da volta a botte e abside semicircolare. La chiesa è in muratura portante in pietra. The period of construction of the church dedicated to St. Matthew the Apostle is prior to 1153. In 1543 the church was in ruins, restored, it was still in poor condition at the end of the 19th century when it was rebuilt from the foundations. The church has a single hall with side chapels and ends with a presbytery with a semicircular apse. The date "1893" is legible on the simple façade, while the date of "1778" is shown on the left side, while a rose window overlooks the entrance portal. Inside, a series of pilasters with Corinthian capitals mark the hall and the side chapels. The Doric nave is covered by a barrel vault and a semicircular apse. The church is made of stone bearing masonry.

La zona Altare è rialzata è molto luminosa, mentre la parte dedicata al pubblico, decisamente meno illuminata. Dispone di organo funzionante ed una sacrestia molto ampia. Particolare il campanile, dalla cappella appuntita è molto caratteristica. È la chiesa dove si celebrano i matrimoni e la comunità partecipa alle celebrazioni della domenica. Dietro alla chiesa, un piccolo oratorio e davanti al sagrato, un piccolo parcheggio pubblico in cui lasciare l’auto. Nei paraggi c’è anche una fontanella, con acqua che proviene dalla Fonte di S. Lucia, ovvero quella della rinomata acqua ventasso.
