San DonatoΒ is a church inΒ Genoa, Northern Italy. It dates from the 12th century and is in Romanesque style. It became a parish under archbishop Siro il Porcello, and was consecrated on May 1, 1189. After the bombardment of 1684 it was restored several times, being again consecrated on December 4, 1892

β β β β β This is one of the oldest church of Genova, exactly in 11th century. One can really be flabergasted by it's anterior beauty and antics which includes the paintings, statue's, walls , roofs and pillers. It's a pleasure to have known of this devotional place which is dedicated to San Donato and the relics are also preserved here beneath the alter. This church is situated in the vicinity salita pollaiouli, one of the oldest via of Genova.
