Non sempre è aperta, però se uno guarda gli orari delle funzioni il gioco è fatto,a parte la chiesa stessa,la cosa veramente bella è Il suo chiostro affrescate. The church is located about 400m after Piazza San Faustino, you cannot go wrong because it has a brick red facade and behind it there is the hostel for those who make the Francophone way on foot. It is not always open, but if one looks at the hours of the functions the game is done, apart from the church itself, the really beautiful thing is its frescoed cloister.

Beautiful ... perhaps one of the oldest churches in Viterbo ... rich, sumptuous, refined. The late afternoon mass sung is very particular.

La chiesa originaria risale al 1200 e l’appellativo di Madonna Liberatrice deriva da un’antica storia. Secondo le testimonianze e i racconti dei cronisti dell’epoca, il 28 maggio del 1320 il cielo della città si riempì di demoni e forze del male. Improvvisamente avvenne il miracolo. Ai cittadini apparve la Vergine, venerata in una cappella della chiesa della Trinità, che invitò tutti a pregare davanti alla sua immagine. Le persone si riunirono nella chiesa ed implorano l’aiuto della Madonna. La città fu liberata dai demoni e all’immagine della Vergine fu dato il nome di Madonna Liberatrice di Viterbo. L’antica chiesa fu restaurata nel 1421, dopo che un incendio l’aveva gravemente danneggiata. Successivamente, nel 1700, il luogo di culto è stato completamente ricostruito, poiché si era rivelato inadeguato per l’elevata affluenza di devoti che partecipavano alle celebrazioni religiose. La chiesa è raggiungibile dal centro o dal parcheggio sottostante. It is the largest church that can be seen from the historic center. The original church dates back to 1200 and the name of Madonna Liberatrice derives from an ancient history. The Virgin appeared to the citizens, venerated in a chapel of the Trinity church, who invited everyone to pray in front of her image. People gathered in the church and implored the help of Our Lady. The city was freed from demons and the image of the Virgin was given the name of Madonna Liberatrice di Viterbo. The ancient church was restored in 1421, after a fire had seriously damaged it.
