In passato il luogo di culto era conosciuto anche come chiesa dell'Annunziata o come chiesa dei Monaci. L'edificio custodisce al suo interno un pregevole e venerato Crocifisso ligneo risalente al XVII secolo, segnalato nell'Inventario degli Oggetti d'Arte d'Italia. Nella cripta sottostante la chiesa è collocato il Sacrario diocesano della diocesi di Oppido Mamertina-Palmi, che conserva numerose reliquie di santi. La chiesa ricade nel territorio della parrocchia di Maria Santissima del Soccorso.
The church of the Santissimo Crocifisso is a place of Catholic worship in Palmi. It is located in the Cittadella district and overlooks the Piazzetta dell'Annunziata. In the past the place of worship was also known as the church of the Annunziata or as a church of the Monks. The building holds inside a valuable and venerated wooden crucifix dating from the seventeenth century, reported in the Inventory of Italian Art Objects. In the crypt below the church is the Diocesan Memorial of the Diocese of Oppido Mamertina-Palmi, which houses numerous relics of saints. The church falls within the territory of the parish of Maria Santissima del Soccorso.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Chiesa molto antica chiamata anche chiesa dei monaci. Al suo interno potete trovare il Crocifisso del XVII secolo, da poco ristrutturata posto da visitare.
Very old church also called monks church. Inside you can find the 17th century Crucifix, a recently renovated place to visit.
