Edificata a cavallo tra il XII secolo e il XIII secolo, nell'estimo delle chiese lucchesi del 1260 risulta come filiale della pieve di Santa Maria di Pescia. In origine dotata del titolo di rettoria, ottenne il privilegio del fonte battesimale il 17 giugno 1388, con bolla pontificia di Urbano VI. Nel 1625, la chiesa divenne pieve e, infine, nel 1729, dopo la nascita del vescovato di Pescia, fu innalzata al rango di arcipretura. Per arrivarci, la salita è abbastanza impegnativa, ma la vista è ripagata.
The Archpriest of Saints Jacopo and Martino stands at the top of the medieval village of Uzzano.
Built at the turn of the 12th and 13th centuries, in the 1260s, it is a branch of the parish church of Santa Maria di Pescia. Originally endowed with the title of rector, it obtained the privilege of the baptismal font on 17 June 1388, with the papal bull of Urban VI. In 1625, the church became a parish church and, finally, in 1729, after the birth of the bishopric of Pescia, it was raised to the rank of archpriesthood. To get there, the climb is quite challenging, but the view is rewarded.
