★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I ruderi della Chiesa di San Francesco, già santuario e luogo di culto dedicato a San Basilio, si staglia sul promontorio che domina la città di Amantea. Difficile da raggiungere, per via di una contesa su una stradina tra privati e amministrazione comunale, tuttavia si può visitare ma il percorso, da sotto, non è ben segnalato. Dal centro storico, appunto, la stradina è chiusa. Noi abbiamo avuto la fortuna di incontrare due cittadini locali, Annunziato e Turi, che ci hanno condotto fino a su. Il panorama è unico come unica è l'atmosfera che aleggia in questo luogo che mantiene intatta la sua Valenza storica.
The ruins of the Church of San Francesco, former sanctuary and place of worship dedicated to San Basilio, stands out on the promontory overlooking the city of Amantea. Difficult to reach, due to a dispute on a road between private and municipal administration, however it can be visited but the path, from below, is not well signposted. From the historical center, in fact, the road is closed. We were lucky enough to meet two local citizens, Annunziato and Turi, who led us up to the top. The panorama is unique as the atmosphere that hovers in this place that keeps its historical value intact is unique.
