★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The castle is beautiful and the views simply breathtaking. We had a warm welcome from Gabriella and excellent service and food in the beautiful restaurant. We spent 5 nights at the castle exploring Umbria and I would say a car is a necessity. Umbria is absolutely stunning!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had the pleasure of staying at the Castello di Baccaresca with my fiancée when we were looking for a venue for our wedding. The rooms were both comfortable and spacious and the food of the hotel’s restaurant was outstanding, particularly the truffle-based dishes. The director of the hotel was incredibly helpful and gave us a tour of all the rooms and outdoors spaces we could have for our wedding reception in. It’s perfect for weddings as there are many rooms that guests can stay in. Moreover, the surroundings are beautiful, covered with forests and close to the medieval town of Gubbio. I wholeheartedly recommend staying there, and thank the director and staff for being so attentive to us and for making our stay so enjoyable.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is quite old. It is a legit Caste, refurbished nicely, in a breathtaking country setting. It contains a tonne of history. It is not the hustle and bustle of the big cities you may want to see but it is lovely. Warm months as usual would be optimal, but it is still stunning in cooler months. You can hike nearby, taste wine, there is a town nearby that is famous for ceramics that you can visit. The castle is driving distance from many famous attractions, for taking day trips. The hotel restaurant serves delicious food and wine too and the staff is wonderful. We loved Mossimo, the night time attendent.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If I could give it 10 Stars, it would be a more accurate rating. The staff was always accommodating & friendly, the food exquisite, and the quality of the castle & rooms made us feel like royalty. The pool and spa were world class, the views & grounds breathtakingly gorgeous.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great experience! Located off the beaten path of today's hustle and bustle, the staff here will treat you professionally and friendly. The rooms are cozy and the lower level restaurant is top notch with a five star feel and great food and service. Know some basic Italian and visit this castle and country side surroundings.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The castle was a nice place to stay. The dinner was great and breakfast was pretty good. Nice and clean facility with a friendly staff. Room walls are thin and the hallways echo so be weary of that. Other than that the rooms are great. The road to get there was a bit difficult as google said we had arrived even though we had not yet, (continue down the dirt road to the castle where you will see the big P sign for parking.) from there walk up to the top where the castle is and check in! It’s in a very secluded area so it is peaceful and no noisy traffic. The view in the morning sunrise and evening sunset is gorgeous.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It really is what it appears to be and the staff are absolutely the best people who work hard for the guests. They do speak some English. The entire grounds are gorgeous. The elegant restaurant is a little expensive but very good and they will go to lengths to create a meal. Considerations are- the continental breakfast does not have much for vegetarians, you will need a car to get there, the turret rooms are not heated so not useful in winter, and the mini refrigerator is tiny; just enough for a few drinks. We actually removed the soft drinks the hotel provides :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We stayed for one night at this beautiful location. We also made a reservation for the restaurant that evening.
We called one day beforehand to confirm our reservation. Upon arrival the reception didn't know about this, so we asked again. When entering the restaurant, they also didn't know about it. This already were signs that the organisation isn't structured and communication between departments is poor.
The food was disappointing. The tagiatelli with ragu tasted like it was made a few days ago and heated up again; a shame for an Italian restaurant if you ask me. After the horrible Primi, we decided not to take a Secundi or dessert.
Other guests also did not seem too happy about their food.
However, it wasn't that expensive, so expectations can't be that high.
The staff from the spa and welness arrived at 6:30AM. I can tell because they were loudly chatting in the courtyard of the castle.
The cleaning ladies decided to make sure everyone was waken up by talking in the corridors at 8AM.
To wrap it up: beautiful location, horrible service and disappointing food.
Looking at previous comments, on which we decided to book this hotel, my guess is that it has been taken over or that the place lost its glory.
