★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A must-do. After 25y with my husband, he finally took me there with his stunning younger sister, Elvira. Btw, neither of them albeit having lived their life close by had ever been inside! Again a slight walk up the incline to reach inside. Would advise doing it in the 3rd leg after Aghiholfi + Magra (meagre as it's name suggests) in the Famiglia Malaysia Circuit. They should organise Tourist Coaches of a Hop-on Hop-off system wherein individuals or groups do an itinerary of these medieval forts to follow the train of this in/famous House! Remorseless female... Find out when you go there... Interesting frescos. Bought a kids quadrino (note book)3E for jotting down but preserve it intact as a souvenir, cloth bag 5E! from the Ticketing Shop. The Senior Gate Keeper affable and easy going will fill you in with juicy details about their dynasty and marriage ties to Ferrara's illustrious d'Este, Borgia stellar lineages-- should you chat him up. Doubt if he could do that in another language besides English...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Most of the original furnishings. Torture chamber was really creepy. Wouldn't have wanted to be an enemy. One wing is a bed and breakfast. Incredibly beautiful archtectural structure. Breathtaking panorama.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I can't vouch for the B&B, but the place is fantastic. Out of the chaos, it's relaxing, with a beautiful view and a medieval atmosphere. Check the visiting hours to make sure you can also visit the indoors.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice place to visit. The castle is full of history and the guide is very kind, Always ready to answer your questions. The souvenir shop is nice as well with some books about the Castle, the family Malaspina and some local products.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing stay at the castle B&B. We had our own set of keys and we wondered the whole day around the castle. Guided tour is included to the price but we preferred to wonder around by ourself. Very helpful staff and made booking for us to the restaurant next to the castle. You can drive trough the village but recommended to arrive to the castle from another direction (GPS showed that the road would be one way, but you are allowed to drive to the castles private parking area when staying B&B).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a lovely stay here with my father. The castle is beautiful and the room had an astonishing view. The pricing was really good. Hotel is great for a retreat and to get back to basics. Beautiful views, nice room and really nice staff. Furthermore there is a really good trattoria only 1 min walk from the castle.
