★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Più bello da lontano che da vicino, se non fosse per il contesto urbanistico che si trova a dominare. Struttura poco curata difficile da raggiungere per gente non sportiva.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il Castello dei Cantelmo sovrasta la cittadina di Popoli, si raggiunge a piedi in circa 40 minuti partendo da Piazza della Libertà, si iniziano a salire le scale, si passa di fronte al piazzale della bella chiesa della Santissima Trinità. Il percorso è piacevole, nei boschi, e di tanto in tanto si godono stupendi paesaggi sulla cittadina e la valle del fiume Pescara. Purtroppo il percorso è molto abbandonato a se stesso, le strutture lignee realizzate, sono fatiscenti e non assolvono più alla loro funzione. Aree pic-nic (delle quali ritengo dubbia la necessità visto il luogo) ndr sono ormai inservibili. Il Castello nasce nell’anno 100 circa come fortificazione Castello-Recinto. Il cantiere di restauro con interventi molto discutibili, è in uno stato di totale abbandono. Non tornerei in questo luogo una seconda volta.
The Castle of Cantelmo overlooks the town of Popoli, can be reached on foot in about 40 minutes starting from Piazza della Libertà, you begin to climb the stairs, you pass in front of the square of the beautiful church of the Holy Trinity. The route is pleasant, in the woods, and occasionally enjoy beautiful landscapes across the town and the valley of the Pescara river. Unfortunately, the path is much left to itself, the wooden structures made, are crumbling and do not serve their function. Picnic areas (of which I think the need is doubtful given the place) are by now useless. The Castle was born in the year around 100 as fortification Castello-Recinto. The restoration site with very questionable interventions, is in a state of total abandonment. I would not return to this place a second time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Popoli centro e Castello purtroppo mal tenuto e non visitabile. Ma la vista in cima ti ripaga di tutta la fatica!!!
Peoples center and Castle unfortunately poorly maintained and not open to visitors. But the view at the top repays you for all the effort !!!

To reach it it takes a while since everything is uphill from the town but it is worth it you enjoy a beautiful view
