Punto negativo la gestione di questi spazi, dati spesso in mano a pseudo filantropi, che come scopo, hanno avuto sempre e solo, l'approvvigionamento di finanziamenti pubblici da utilizzare per scopi privati. O	Orietta Spadaccini on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il complesso Abatemarco è un luogo pieno di fascino, quando si lascia la statale 18 all’altezza di Cirella e si prende la deviazione per Santa Maria del Cedro, dopo pochi chilometri ce lo troviamo davanti in tutta la sua maestosità, costruito su uno spuntone di roccia. Prende il nome dall’omonimo fiume che scorre in fondo al vallone e il gorgoglio del fiume fa da colonna sonora del nostro girovagare fra le vecchie mura. Il Castello San Michele è a sud e possiamo vedere i resti di due torri. La chiesa, di probabili origini bizantine, affianca il Castello un poco più in basso. La chiesa è stata ristrutturata, forse un po’ pesantemente, ma bene così piuttosto che lasciarla all’incuria totale. Passeggiando fra i ruderi è una meraviglia guardare il vallone sottostante, vista sconsigliata a chi soffre di vertigini. La vegetazione spontanea circostante è caratterizzata dalle specie della macchia mediterranea. È presente una chiesa con tracce di affreschi. Il parcheggio è di piccole dimensioni sufficiente per quattro o cinque automobili.
