Sarebbe davvero bello se vi fossero dei cartelli esplicativi a spiegarne brevemente la storia anche a chi non conosce il posto ma viene catturato dal fascino dei suoi edifici

It would be really nice if there were explanatory signs to briefly explain its history even to those who do not know the place but are captivated by the charm of its buildings

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Oggi sede di un importante centro eventi, il Castello di Morghengo ha una storia lunga e travagliata alle sue spalle. Viene citato per la prima volta nel 1156, quando capitolò di fonte all'assedio dei milanesi; ma con tutta probabilità la sua fondazione è altomedievale, forse risalente addirittura al X Secolo. Nel XV Secolo la rocca appartenne al casato dei Brusati, per poi passare nelle mani dei Tornielli (seconda metà del XVI Secolo) e infine dei Caccia (XVII Secolo).
Architettonicamente fu rimaneggiato innumerevoli volte, tanto che le parti più recenti dell'edificio risalgono ai primi del Novecento; tuttavia il corpo centrale presenta ancora le caditoie originali del quattrocentesco cammino di ronda.
Now home to an important events center, Morghengo Castle has a long and troubled history behind it. It is mentioned for the first time in 1156, when it capitulated as a source to the Milanese siege; but in all probability its foundation is early medieval, perhaps even dating back to the 10th century. In the 15th century the fortress belonged to the Brusati family, and then passed into the hands of the Tornielli (second half of the XVI century) and finally of the Caccia (XVII century).
Architecturally it was remodeled countless times, so that the most recent parts of the building date back to the early twentieth century; however the central body still presents the original drains of the fifteenth-century patrol path.
