Luogo magnifico intarsiato nella zona superiore della splendida città ciociara; il castello è sempre promotore di eventi, dalle molteplici vesti: rievocazioni storiche, mostre fotografiche e/o pittoriche, presentazione di opere letterarie, mostre mercato dedicate al fumetto, con approfondimenti e ospiti. Più volte ristrutturato e restaurato, il castello è una viva testimonianza di un antico retaggio, di questa splendida ed unica comunità, che sta valorizzando abbastanza bene le proprie ricchezze culturali, artistiche e monumentali. Castle of the Counts of Ceccano. Magnificent place inlaid in the upper area of the splendid city of Ciociaria; the castle is always the promoter of events, with multiple guises: historical re-enactments, photographic and / or pictorial exhibitions, presentation of literary works, market exhibitions dedicated to comics, with insights and guests. Renovated and restored several times, the castle is a living testimony of an ancient heritage, of this splendid and unique community, which is valuing its cultural, artistic and monumental riches quite well.

Vere chicche l' individuazione e spiegazioni dei graffiti dalla spada di Licinio al Golgota. Ci ha trasmesso l'orgoglio del restauro del già fatto e la certezza che si proseguirà con i nuovi fondi che saranno utilizzati anche per la messa in sicurezza della stanza della "Spada nella roccia" , la San Galgano del Lazio. Ci ritornerò sicuramente. Visit made interesting by a very good guide and interested in our understanding of historical events and the building structure. Real gems are the identification and explanations of the graffiti from the sword of Licinius to Golgotha. He conveyed to us the pride of the restoration of what has already been done and the certainty that we will continue with the new funds that will also be used to secure the room of the "Sword in the rock", the San Galgano del Lazio. G	Gianni Chiavetta on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Posto incantevole. In fase di restauro, già a buon punto ma con tanto ancora da fare. La guida (Andrea) molto preparata, gentile e disponibile. Bellissima visita e molto interessante anche per merito della forbita eloquenza della guida già menzionata. Un posto che sicuramente merita. Un ottimo diversivo per una bella gita domenicale in un clima primaverile in un posto ricco di verde. Posto da visitare sia con la famiglia che in alternativa con la comitiva di amici. Consigliatissimo. Lovely place. Undergoing restoration, already well advanced but with much still to be done. The guide (Andrea) very prepared, kind and helpful. Beautiful visit and very interesting also thanks to the refined eloquence of the aforementioned guide. A place that definitely deserves. An excellent diversion for a nice Sunday trip in a spring climate in a place full of greenery. Place to visit both with family and alternatively with a group of friends. Highly recommended.

Da appassionata di storia del Rinascimento, non posso non sottolineare l'importanza del sito ed i suoi legami con la storia della famiglia Colonna. Un luogo tutto da esplorare, per molti anni dimenticato per le sue bellezze ed utilizzato come carcere fino agli anni '70. Il panorama dai bastioni è stupendo, nelle giornate limpide ch si può affacciare ad ammirare i vasti terreni del basso Lazio. Molto importante è il ruolo dei Cultores Artium, associazione che si occupa di ridare vita al luogo con mostre ed eventi culturali. An absolutely wonderful place, full of history and in full revival activity, thanks to the architectural and cultural recovery carried out in recent years. As a lover of Renaissance history, I cannot fail to underline the importance of the site and its links with the history of the Colonna family. A place to be explored, forgotten for many years for its beauty and used as a prison until the 70s. The view from the ramparts is wonderful, on clear days you can look out to admire the vast lands of lower Lazio. Very important is the role of the Cultores Artium, an association that is responsible for reviving the place with exhibitions and cultural events.

Anche il paesino è molto interessante, perché ha due castelli, ma l altro non so se è visitabile. Luogo ricco di storia, di leggende medievali ed ovviamente tanti scalini ☺️ Unica pecca è che in paese non ci sono ristoranti e pizzerie, da quello che mi è sembrato di vedere. Davanti all' ingresso del castello ampio parcheggio. Richiesto pass vaccinale per accedere al castello. ? Beautiful castle in the center of the village, perfect for a walk with family and friends. The village is also very interesting, because it has two castles, but I don't know if the other is open to visitors. Place rich in history, medieval legends and obviously many steps ☺️ The only flaw is that in the village there are no restaurants and pizzerias, from what I thought I saw. There is ample parking in front of the entrance to the castle. Vaccination pass required to access the castle. ?
