★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Castello che sovrasta il Paese di Zavattarello.
Molto belli gli esterni, giardino pulito e molto curato. Purtroppo non sono ancora riuscita a visitare l'interno ma spero di farcela al prossimo giro.
 Castle overlooking the town of Zavattarello.
Very beautiful exteriors, clean and well-kept garden. Unfortunately I haven't been able to visit the interior yet but I hope to make it on the next lap.

È un fortilizio in pietra dalla complessa architettura militare.
Risale , nella sua prima edificazione , al X secolo e dopo svariate vicissitudini storiche, nel 1390 diventa proprietà del Capitano di Ventura Jacopo Dal Verme.
Rimane , pressoché ininterrottamente, dominio dei Dal Verme sino al 1975.
Donato insieme ai terreni circostanti al Comune , solo nel 1987 inizio il restauro .
Oggi è aperto al pubblico ed è sede di eventi.
The Zavattarello Castle, also known as Dal Verme Castle, overlooks the ancient village with its titanic grandeur.
It is a stone fortress with a complex military architecture.
It dates back, in its first construction, to the 10th century and after various historical vicissitudes, in 1390 it became the property of the Captain of Ventura Jacopo Dal Verme.
It remained, almost uninterruptedly, the domain of the Dal Verme family until 1975.
Donated together with the surrounding land to the Municipality, the restoration began only in 1987.
Today it is open to the public and is the venue for events.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Two days ago we had a tour with Julia as our guide. She did great and explained everything (in English). The castello had many, many rooms, and we liked that we went thru it in an relative fast pace. Great visit

Forget your princess fantasies, in these castles you'll find shrieking ghosts and footprints made of dust on the swift stairs leading to the tower. “Straight out of a fairy tale” brings to mind images of tiny bridges, flowering hills, enchanted woods and ancient buildings but don't you forget that every fairy tale has a dark side, too …it is said that Pietro Dal Verme (lord of the castle in the fifteenth century), poisoned by his second wife Chiara Sforza on October 17, 1485, is the presence that hovers in the rooms of his ancient manor.
