★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dopo varie chiamate per reperire informazioni su come e quando poter passare per donare dei vestiti, riusciamo ad "accordarci" per il giovedì mattina (li avevamo chiamati la mattina stessa per avere ulteriore conferma dell'orario e se potessimo andare o meno).
Arriviamo alle 10.20 e ci viene detto che ormai è troppo tardi (l'orario che ci era stato comunicato era 9/11) e di presentarci il martedì seguente. Facciamo presente che avevamo chiamato, che non siamo di Monsummano e che la macchina carica di roba è praticamente a 50 mt dalla loro sede.
Ci viene poi detto che non devono essere abiti "vecchi" o "fuori moda" perché altrimenti le persone non li vogliono (mi chiedo a questo punto a chi vadano questi vestiti) e non devono essere in sacchi neri e devono essere donati lavati e piegati (ndr:dietro hanno cumuli di sacchi neri, ma vabè).
Facciamo presente che i vestiti sono tutti puliti, piegati e riposti in delle scatole di cartone.
Morale della favola: dopo 10 minuti di "discussione" ce ne siamo andate, piuttosto allibite e con la macchina Ancora piena di abiti che sicuramente avrebbero fatto comodo a molte persone e, invece di andarli a buttare nei cassoni dei vestiti come ci ha suggerito la signora volontaria della Caritas (aggiungendo: "tanto in quei paesi là, Ucraina tipo, gli va bene tutto) li abbiamo donati a un'altra associazione che ci ha ringraziate.
After several calls to find information on how and when to go to donate clothes, we manage to "agree" for Thursday morning (we had called them the same morning to have further confirmation of the time and if we could go or not).
We arrive at 10.20 am and we are told that it is now too late (the time we were told was 9/11) and to show up the following Tuesday. We point out that we had called, that we are not from Monsummano and that the car loaded with stuff is practically 50 meters from their headquarters.
We are then told that they must not be "old" or "out of fashion" clothes because otherwise people don't want them (I wonder at this point who these clothes go to) and they must not be in black bags and must be donated washed and folded (editor's note: they have heaps of black bags behind them, but okay).
Please note that the clothes are all clean, folded and placed in cardboard boxes.
Moral of the story: after 10 minutes of "discussion" we left, rather stunned and with the car Still full of clothes that surely would have been useful to many people and, instead of throwing them in the clothes bins as suggested by the volunteer lady from Caritas (adding: "so much in those countries there, like Ukraine, everything is fine with them) we donated them to another association that thanked us.
