O acesso não é tão fácil, há alguns ônibus apenas por dia e a passagem é um pouco caro pela distância da cidade de Como, mas vale a pena! Careno gode di un paesaggio davvero bellissimo che guarda alla sponda opposta del lago verso Laglio e gli altri paesi costieri. Da visitare la chiesetta di S. Martino, da percorrere le sue stradine acciottolate che raggiungono la provinciale lariana. La visita è consigliata nel periodo primaverile con giornate non troppo calde ma soleggiate: allora il panorama è veramente al suo massimo e la gita risulta gradevolissima. Qualche difficoltà per il parcheggio, superabile con un po' di pazienza. Luogo imperdibile! Careno is a village on Lake Como, part of the municipality of Nesso known for its "ravine". Careno enjoys a truly beautiful landscape overlooking the opposite shore of the lake towards Laglio and the other coastal towns. To visit the small church of S. Martino, to walk its cobbled streets that reach the provincial lariana. The visit is recommended in spring with days that are not too hot but sunny: then the view is really at its best and the trip is very pleasant. Some difficulties for parking, which can be overcome with a little patience. Unmissable place!

È una manciata di casette disposte a triangolo rovesciato, percorribile a piedi, fra case in pietra che parlano di un antico passato e dell'esistenza delle cave in pietra moltrasina, dei suoi scalpellini, e delle sue anguste stradine che portano ai 300 scalini che terminano al porticciolo sul lago. Careno is a town in the municipality of Nesso, located between the town hall and the neighboring municipality of Pognana. At present (2016) about 150 inhabitants. It is a handful of small houses arranged in an inverted triangle, which can be walked on, among stone houses that speak of an ancient past and the existence of the stone quarries in Moltrasina, its stonemasons, and its narrow streets that lead to the 300 steps that end at the marina on the lake.
