Kleiner Geheimtipp.
A little insider tip. Small hidden road to the cliff. Not easy to reach by car.

An evocative, poetic, wild, beautiful, little man-made place (fortunately), with coves difficult to reach (fortunately), from which you can see a crazy sunset.

Not the usual bathing beach. But a unique scenario, a beach of red stones with wonderful colors, especially in the late afternoon. It is not easy to get there due to a slightly steep descent. It seems that the canyon meets the sea.

Beautiful nature reserve, characterized by a Sabia closer to red than yellow and numerous coves, made up of clay and trees, which collaborate in the formation of a harmonious landscape in its naturalness. The only flaw is the presence of stones.

We found this reserve on Google Maps and wanted to explore it. That was possible, but we had to cross some no-entry signs. Then a rocky path led us further down on foot towards the bay, but we snuck over one or the other private property to get ahead. Originally we wanted to swim by the sea, it wasn't that easy and we left it. However, the short hike was still worth it. We were the only ones and the nature was breathtaking.

What to write… we are in the Agrigento area and therefore we certainly cannot expect services or, even more utopian, minimal indications. We are immersed, as always, in total and unacceptable neglect. The only note, common to all our natural magnificences, is the self-preservation of almost uncontaminated environments. Almost is a must, alas. The magnificent cove below the lighthouse tower, called Cala Miraben, is also besieged by the plastic released into the sea. It is truly a serious presence, all the more so in a paradisiacal and contained corner such as this small cove of sandstone tuff and therefore of red sand. Furthermore, except in the months of July and August, a torrent flows into the center of the cove. The beach of San Carlo, which opens to the west of the Cape, is tufaceous gray in color. It is large and usable, but even here there are masses of plastic waste.

Small but beautiful. Few bays with turquose water and orange sand and stones.
