With a breathtaking view of the hills just a few minutes drive from Bergamo, Ca 'Verde offers a tour with tasting that is certainly more familiar and interesting than the larger and more well-known productions. You can see all the passion and efforts of the handyman owner Mauro, who will show you in detail the whole winemaking process from the vine to the bottle. Then we move on to the tavern, an enchanting readapted manger, for tasting the different types of wine produced accompanied by cold cuts and cheeses which are also local. Definitely recommended to spend a couple of carefree hours and enjoy excellent organic wine!

We had a visit to the winery and an exceptional tasting in this small Bergamo winery. Booked at the last guided by the good reviews, Mauro was very kind in welcoming us, in introducing us to the history of the family and in guiding us in the wine making process. The tasting of the three house wines was accompanied by a very good homemade focaccia and cheeses and cold cuts from other local realities. Absolutely recommended as an experience and for their excellent Valcalepio!

A dip in the wisdom, passion and culture of an honest and lively winemaker. Going up to Ca 'Verde is not just "a stroll in the cellar", but it is an encounter with the wine itself and the face behind those red DOC bottles, that of Mauro. In just under three hours he guided us everywhere in his little corner of the world, touching the themes of viticulture, organic production and winemaking without the use of chemical additives; from the Merlot and Cabernet vines that run along the terraced hill on the infinite plain, up to the small rooms where the transformation takes place to obtain a sincere, drinkable wine, with a spicy nose between black cherry and plum and a body in the mouth from pure Valcalepio. The visit plus tasting deserves the price for the abundance, as well as the wine, also of the precious accompaniments prepared by his wife. The view is wonderful, the area exudes effort and culture, the wooden stools and the stone walls, the road to get there is winding and suitable for those who know that after all they will find nothing but sincerity.

We got a nice tour of the vineyard, the production areas and the wine cellar. After the tour it was time to taste some of the wine that is produced at Ca' Verde. The winery produces two types of red wine and one type of rosé wine. Ca' Verde is beautifully located on a mountain and owned by a friendly family.

A great morning with Eliza tasting fabulous wines from her family’s organic vineyard. A must do if you staying a few days in Bergamo.

One of the best wine tours I have ever done. Ca’Verde is reached by a winding, climbing wooded trail, just out from the small town of Almenno San Salvatore. It’s very easy to reach by public transport from Bergamo. As you climb the trail, the views of Almenno and the Valle Imagna are stunning. We were warmly greeted by Elisa (and Laky the dog!) We learned of how this family moved from Milan to this area, and started wine production with a sound ethos of using only ecological methods of harvesting and production. Next we toured the cellars, and Eliza gave a comprehensive explanation of how the harvested grapes are pressed, and how the wine is fermented and matured before bottling. We had a detailed look at where the wines are stored for two years. Finally, we had the opportunity taste the three delicious wines produced by this family. There was plenty of cheese and cold meats to sample, and we really enjoyed the wholemeal foccia bread prepared by Elisa’s mother that morning. Visiting Ca’Verde was definitely the highlight of our weekend trip to Bergamo. I would highly recommend anyone with an interest in wine to visit Ca’Verde when in this beautiful part of Italy. Thank you Elisa and family for a wonderful visit!

I’m a little embarrassed by the number of winery tours I’ve done from California, Spain, Portugal to Italy. This one was something special. Very small family run place (7000 bottles per year) that was just a delight. The daughter (Elisa I think) was engaging and informative. Her mom dropped in for a chat and was just as charming. The wines - they produce three— were also very good. Very nice rose, a very friendly young merlot/cab table wine and an oak aged blend that was surprisingly good. The setting is beautiful — up high and looking out over a valley. Unique and wonderful experience. Don’t go if you are hoping for the same old large, fancy commercial wine experience. This farm is absolutely genuine and a gem.
