G	G S on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Attirata dalla moltitudine di birre artigianali (mia passione) di cui mi avevano parlato alcuni amici, decido una sera di provare. Arriviamo in due, più o meno alle 22 e ci dicono subito che è pieno ma di lasciare se vogliamo il nominativo. Così facciamo e usciamo alla ricerca di un altro posto dove poter andare. Una volta decisi, nell'andare via ci facciamo uno scrupolo e ricontrolliamo la situazione. Il signore ci dice che si stanno alzando due tavoli e che è quindi molto probabile che possiamo sederci a breve, abbiamo solo una coppia davanti a noi. Rimaniamo all'ingresso e ci portiamo avanti sbirciando il menù. Addirittura scegliamo già la birra. Dopo 20 minuti la cameriera viene a intimarci di uscire perché ormai è pieno e non è più possibile restare all'interno. Sono le 23. Attracted by the multitude of craft beers (my passion) that some friends had told me about, I decide one evening to try. We arrive in two, more or less at 10 pm and they tell us immediately that it is full but to leave the name if we want. So we do and go out looking for another place to go. Once we have made up our minds, in leaving, we have a scruple and double-check the situation. The gentleman tells us that two tables are being raised and that it is therefore very likely that we can sit down shortly, we have only one couple in front of us. We remain at the entrance and we carry on looking at the menu. We even choose beer already. After 20 minutes the waitress comes to tell us to leave because it is now full and it is no longer possible to stay inside. It's 11pm.

In un locale che ci è apparso senza pretese (e tutto fuorché ricercato), siamo rimasti davvero spiazzati. La consumazione minima a 5 euro è una scelta libera del proprietario che io altrettanto liberamente non condivido, proprio perché rinforza la differenza tra quello che appare (la birreria sotto casa), e quello che ha in mente il proprietario (un posto per turisti della birra?). Servizio lentino. Non ci hanno fatto pagare con la carta i conti separati, purtroppo oggigiorno va notato. Lasciano girare i cani liberamente nel locale senza guinzaglio, anche questo non lo condivido. Birre molto buone però, tanta scelta e davvero di qualità. We did not find in the vast menu a beer under € 6.50, not even considering the 33 cl ones. In a place that appeared to us unpretentious (and anything but sophisticated), we were truly blown away. The minimum consumption of 5 euros is a free choice of the owner that I just as freely do not agree, precisely because it reinforces the difference between what appears (the brewery downstairs), and what the owner has in mind (a place for beer tourists ?). Loupe service. We were not charged for separate bills by card, unfortunately it should be noted nowadays. They let the dogs roam freely in the room without a leash, even this I do not agree with. Very good beers though, lots of choice and really quality.

Una scelta vastissima di birre, anche se il vero motivo per cui ci torno ogni volta è la torta al cioccolato, veramente una prelibatezza (nella sua semplicità). Ambiente old style da birreria, con un comodo caminetto nella sala di destra. Scritto bene in grande all'entrata che la consumazione è obbligatoria ed è minimo di 5€. Leggevo nelle recensioni che alcuni si lamentano della troppa vasta offerta delle birre. Ammetto essere tantissime e non sempre è facile scegliere o si ha voglia di "perder tempo" a guardarle tutte, in quel caso basta chiedere consiglio al proprietario, come spesso mi è capitato di fare. Posto davvero caratteristico che merita una visita! Peccato debba chiudere. Local historian of Cabiate, I have been going there for years and I have always enjoyed it. A huge choice of beers, even if the real reason why I go back every time is the chocolate cake, truly a delicacy (in its simplicity). Old-style brewery setting, with a comfortable fireplace in the room on the right. Written well in large at the entrance that the drink is mandatory and is a minimum of € 5. I read in the reviews that some complain about the too large offer of beers. I admit there are many and it is not always easy to choose or you want to "waste time" looking at them all, in that case just ask the owner for advice, as I have often done. Really quaint place that is worth a visit! Too bad it has to close.
D	Davide Galli on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Arrivati all'ingresso vi accoglierà un cartello dicendo che la consumazione minima A PERSONA è di 5€, ma non vi preoccupate poiché sul menù nulla sarà sotto ai 6.5€ (nemmeno le birre piccole). Se uniamo il servizio alquanto lento e l'impossibilità di fare conti separati con la carta nel 2022, direi che è proprio da sconsigliare. Peccato, l'atmosfera mi piaceva! When you arrive at the entrance you will be greeted by a sign saying that the minimum consumption PER PERSON is € 5, but do not worry because on the menu nothing will be under € 6.5 (not even small beers). If we combine the rather slow service and the impossibility of having separate accounts with the card in 2022, I would say that it is really not recommended. Too bad, I liked the atmosphere!
