Stop and eat. You'll regret it if you don't. It doesn't look much on the outside but the food is fresh and really delicious.

Like many others who have left a review for Luca's shop, I was looking to EAT in Modena, and was lucky enough to have a reservation at Osteria Francescana. My husband articulated it perfectly– at Francescana we ate with our heads, and at Luca's boutique, we ate with our hearts. This experience was absolutely perfect, and if you have the opportunity, it's not to be missed. We were standing out front around opening time, not entirely sure we could go in, or if we were even right about the place being a restaurant. Luca came walking up from down the street, saw what we were doing, and happily waved us inside. That warm welcome set the tone for the rest of our meal. There's just one table, which makes you his focus while you're there. It also puts you in a good position to chat with him, which is an incredible joy. He's friendly, sweet, and eager to share his culture with you. It really felt like having a meal in a friend's home. He also happens to prepare otherworldly food that had us just shaking our heads in silence. We stayed for quite a while after our meal to talk to him, and the night ended with us exchanging information and urging him to come visit us in the States. We haven't stopped talking about this experience, and I don't imagine we'll ever forget it. Eat here! That table should never be empty.

Not only was the food incredible, but the experience was amazing. Everything about this place and how Luca goes about his business is wonderful. As an Australian studying Italian I got to experience some authentic culture, incredible food and even stayed around and had a glass of wine with Luca's friends. An experience I'll never forget. It may not look like a lot but there is a lot on offer, 10/10 would recommend.

Perfect lunch experience. The chef was so polite and we felt very welcome. This dining experience was truly β€˜boutique’, as we were the only guests in this small shop. We started with a tasting of parmiggiano and four different acato balsamicos. Followed by a serving of tortellinis in a broth. Then a serving of exquisite tortellonis in a parmeggiano sauce. Topped of with a coffee panna cotta as dessert. Best dining experience in Modena!

If you’re visiting Modena to eat at Osteria Francescana, you owe it to yourself to have a meal here, too. Its one of the best dining experiences of my life, and the one-two punch of this AND Francescana on the same trip will leave you near tears. It’s not a normal restaurant. It’s more of a deli counter where people pick up fresh, perfectly-made pasta to cook at home. However, there is exactly one table, and you can reserve it, or you can just show up when they open like I did and hope it’s available. Once you sit down, Luca (the owner, pasta-maker, and chef) will walk you through a meal of what he has available at that time. On my visit, that meant fantastic aged Parmigiano-Reggiano with 40-year-old Balsamic, tortellini topped with shaved black truffle picked that morning, ravioli with more of that perfect black truffle, a traditional dish of eggs with truffles, and a couple bottles of really good, really interesting natural wine. All told, we spent around 60€ per person for one of the most delicious, enjoyable meals of our lives. Without hyperbole, the tortellini was the best bowl of pasta I’ve ever had, and Luca was one of the best hosts I’ve ever had, and this was easily one of the most memorable meals I will EVER have. If you’re in Modena to experience the great food, do NOT miss this!!

Our friends had originally stumbled upon Boutique del Tortellino at closing time. Luca, the chef and owner, offered them a few tortellini and said they could try back tomorrow. They invited us to join the next day and wow are we eternally grateful. Stepping in to Boutique del Tortellino is like stepping into the apartment of an old friend and sitting down at their kitchen table for an incomparable meal and experience. We have had a few excellent meals while traveling through Italy including Osteria Francescana and, without taking anything away from any other restaurant, I can say that this was far and away the best. When we left we weren’t even a block away before three out of the four of us were crying happy tears. We talked for over an hour about our experience before even getting to the topic of the food. But then there’s the food, of course. We were served the best bowl of pasta I’ve ever had in my entire life. Every dish and bottle of wine was full of flavor, passion and a big burst of humanity at its finest. If you have the opportunity to stop by for lunch or dinner I can’t recommend enough. We’ll be fondly reminiscing about this meal for decades to come.

My wife and I stayed in Modena for a couple of weeks and visited Boutique del Tortellino near the end of our trip. Luca, the owner, is a genuinely nice and inviting person who truly knows Modenese cuisine. We dined at some of the best places Modena has to offer, Osteria Francescana and Hosteria Giusti to name a couple, and we both agreed Boutique del Tortellino was our favorite. Not to take anything away from the other establishments where we've dined, but simply put Boutique del Tortellino offers a warm and homey ambiance with some of the best dishes in the region. I can go on and on, but simply put if you have the opportunity to eat here please do so. Thank you again Luca. It was an honor.

One of the best dining experiences I have ever had. If you are in Tuscany, go out of your way to eat here. The tortellini is handmade in plain site and hands down the best I’ve had in Italy, let alone the world. Extremely friendly staff with a good English speaking capability. Have a seat at the table and make a new friend!
