★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Resto sempre piacevolmente sorpreso dalla bellezza di questo luogo, sempre uguale ma al tempo stesso sempre diverso. La vista delle Apuane è fantastica così come l'Arno che incontra il mare, a volte ben accetto e a volte respinto dal libeccio.
 I am always pleasantly surprised by the beauty of this place, always the same but at the same time always different. The view of the Apuan Alps is fantastic as well as the Arno that meets the sea, sometimes welcome and sometimes rejected by the libeccio.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Arrivati a bocca d’Arno si rimane estasiati dal panorama con la spiaggia, la pineta di San Rossore e in lontananza il bianco dei marmi delle Alpi Apuane. Più vicino, proprio alla foce, ci sono delle piccole palafitte di legno, si tratta dei retoni dei pescatori, utilizzati per la pesca lungo la costa o le sponde del fiume. Nel primo dopoguerra fu inventato il bilancione, detto “crociera”, quella croce che tiene su la grande rete, dentro la quale, una volta sollevata dall’acqua, viene gettata la piccola rete che, come una teleferica, recupera i pesci un po’ alla volta. Il retone va giù, si adagia sul fondo e dopo circa 10, 15 minuti si alza e si guarda che s’è preso, la rete va a fortuna (Cit. pescatore di Bocca d’Arno).

Closer, right at the mouth, there are small wooden stilts, these are the fishermen's retoni, used for fishing along the coast or the banks of the river.
