Necessita di interventi prima che faccia la fine dell'altro viadotto Morandi di Genova. Ponte Morandi symbol of Catanzaro together with the monument "Il cavatore". Divenuto uno dei simboli della città di Catanzaro ne ha rappresentato altrettanto a lungo la più importante via di accesso e di uscita dal centro città. Alto un centinaio di metri offre una spettacolare vista da ovest del centro abitato e anche su una parte del golfo di Squillace e anche su una piccola parte dei contrafforti della Sila. G	Greice Opinionista on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Conosciuto come il "ponte Morandi",o in gergo il "ponte di Catanzaro" è un imponente struttura,che permette la visione della morfologia- sud del territorio, farlo a piedi è un po meno edificante,per I blocchi di cemento traballanti e x l impeto del Vento,ma da sempre è lo status simbol del capoluogo, illuminato x le festivitá è spettacolare! G	Gabri Consigli on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Do 4 perché è uno dei simboli della città di Catanzaro. Nonostante il nome in realtà è noto come ponte Morandi dall'ingegnere che lo costruì negli anni 60. È il medesimo Morandi del ponte di Genova...il Morandi di Catanzaro sorge maestoso unendo due sponde della città o per meglio dire due promontori.. unisce il centro storico con i quartieri periferici di via De Filippis, S.Antonio, Mater Domini e Gagliano. Il ponte è il primo in Italia per altezza. Purtroppo detiene anche un considerevole numero di vittime ...non per incidenti ma per suicidi..in diversi decidono infatti di farsi cadere giù da un altezza di circa 100m. Il ponte è ben visibile dal piazzale del san Giovanni ( soprattutto di sera è particolare ), ma anche dalla strada sottostante lo stesso ponte.. ovviamente nn si può sostare ma passando con l'auto è ben visibile in tutta la sua imponenza.. ultimamente è oggetto di timori vari, dati gli eventi di cronaca.. ma sembrerebbe che i lavori di manutenzione siano iniziati. Da quello che si diceva qlc anno fa i mèzzi più pesanti non possono accedervi a causa di alcuni problemi strutturali..... Se si dovesse sistemarlo sarebbe un lavoro incredibile..... La mia famiglia mi ha sempŕe raccontato degli aneddoti e si diceva che durante la sua costruzione portarono, insieme al materiale da costruzione, anche delle bare ed infatti morirono molti operai...... Io comunque ho paura a percorrerlo anche in automobile.. Mi capitò un anno che ci finii x caso( non guidavo io) e non vedevo l'ora di arrivare alla fine del ponte..... From what was said a few years ago the heavier vehicles cannot access it due to some structural problems ..... If you had to fix it it would be an incredible job ..... Offre una bellissima vista sul mare da un lato e sulle prime alture della Sila dall'altro. Built in the 60s (at the time the Morandi viaduct) ... but still current for its bold lines. It offers a beautiful view of the sea on one side and the first hills of the Sila on the other.

Progettato dal geniale Ing.Riccardo Morandi alla fine degli anni 50, consente un ingresso facile, provenendo dall'aeroporto, o da qualunque altra direzione, alla città di Catanzaro, scavalcando in un solo balzo il torrente Fiumarella. È imponente e maestoso con la sua immensa mole. L' arcata è lunga 231 metri, più di DUE CAMPI DA CALCIO! È alto 112 m. Visto dal basso fa impressione per la sua enorme arcata, che fu costruita in calcestruzzo armato a getto continuo (non come oggi, che si costruisce tutto prefabbricato). Fu costruito in soli 3 anni (1959-1962). Lo vedi da tutte le parti È diventato il simbolo della Città di Catanzaro. In seguito al crollo del ponte di Genova, è stato chiuso ed ha avuto importanti lavori di manutenzione. Ora è di nuovo percorribile. Riporto le parole usate dal Prof. Morandi per descrivere il suo capolavoro: «un'opera d’arte di particolare espressività, tra le più moderne possibili, poiché progettata con criteri di monumentalità, senza l’ausilio di inutili decorazioni.» This viaduct, as well as being a testimony of the Italian engineering genius, is the largest single arch bridge in Italy and one of the largest in Europe. Designed by the brilliant engineer Riccardo Morandi at the end of the 50s, it allows easy entry, coming from the airport, or from any other direction, to the city of Catanzaro, climbing over the Fiumarella stream in a single leap. It is imposing and majestic with its immense size. The arcade is 231 meters long, more than TWO FOOTBALL PITCHES! It is 112 m high.
