★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Biblioteca ben assortita, ma difficile il reperimento dei materiali librari per l'estesa varietà dei vani della stessa. Difficile lettura dell'edificio per lo spostamento al suo interno. Migliorabile la segnaletica di indicazione.
Well-stocked library, but difficult to find library materials due to the wide variety of its rooms. Difficult to read the building for moving inside it. Indication signs can be improved.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La Biblioteca Umanistica dell'Università di Firenze raccoglie un ragguardevole patrimonio librario di un milione e settecentomila testi e migliaia di riviste che in maggior parte si trovano nella sede di Piazza Brunelleschi, che un tempo ospitava le aule della facoltà di Lettere ai tempi in cui ero uno studente. Adesso è suddivisa in numerose sale di consultazione e svariate biblioteche di dipartimento ed è frequentata dagli studenti di oggi, ma è sempre ricca d'atmosfera, anche perché nel mio caso è un luogo della memoria. Certo, le aule storiche che erano incise nella mia mente adesso sono comode sale di consultazione dove leggere, studiare e navigare sul proprio laptop, ma il cortile d'ingresso con gli studenti nell'ora d'aria è come ai miei tempi. E un bel tuffo nel passato ogni tanto è salutare...
The Humanistic Library of the University of Florence collects a considerable book heritage of one million and seven hundred thousand texts and thousands of magazines which are mostly located in the headquarters of Piazza Brunelleschi, which once housed the classrooms of the Faculty of Letters at the time when I was a student. Now it is divided into numerous reference rooms and several departmental libraries and is frequented by today's students, but it is always full of atmosphere, also because in my case it is a place of remembrance. Sure, the historic classrooms that were etched in my mind are now comfortable reference rooms where you can read, study and browse on your laptop, but the entrance courtyard with students in the hour of air is like in my day. And a nice dip in the past is sometimes healthy ...
