★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The beach at Barbary Coast is around 45-50 mins bus ride from Trieste main train station. I usually take bus number 40. As compared to the city beach at Barcola, one would find the Barbary Coast to be more peaceful and scenic. Of course getting down to the beach is a tricky hike and climbing back up is strenuous. But its all worth it. Once you got down to the beach and walk a little south you would see naturalists. If you are one of them who enjoys naturalism and live in Trieste, this beach is at a very comfortable distance from you. It's also a very family friendly beach.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The access is from the main road. You will find parking spaces alongside the "statale" right atop the beach. After paying the parking, be ready for a hike down the hill, through the woods. There is a trail that brings you there. It is pretty steep so the way back is kind of tiring in the summer when it's hot. It should take from 10 to 20 minutes to get to the beach and maximum half an hour to go back to the parking area, at a slow pace. Absolutely not recommended for people with disabilities. Totally worth it if you don't mind sweating a bit. Once there, the beach is stunning!!!
