★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Premesso che prima del lockdown avrei assegnato alla bct (di cui sono frequentatrice di lungo corso) 4 o 5 stelle, mi trovo costretta a segnalare oggi la maleducazione del personale della reception nel gestire il disorientamento di chi torna per la prima volta dopo la chiusura e non è al corrente delle nuove regole. Sottolineo che, nel mio caso, anche i tentativi di porgere delle scuse per avere involontariamente superato una persona ferma all'ingresso (che avevo ritenuto essere in attesa di qualcuno) sono stati sopraffatti da sgradevoli urla con cui mi si intimava di mettermi in fila. Morale: il libro sono andata a comprarlo da Giunti ma tanta maleducazione in un luogo che per sua natura dovrebbe essere un modello di civiltà è davvero inaccettabile.
Given that before the lockdown I would have assigned the bct (of which I am a long-time frequenter) 4 or 5 stars, I am forced to report today the rudeness of the reception staff in managing the disorientation of those who return for the first time after closing and is not aware of the new rules. I emphasize that, in my case, even the attempts to apologize for having unintentionally passed a person standing at the entrance (who I had assumed was waiting for someone) were overwhelmed by unpleasant screams with which I was told to get in line. Moral: I went to buy the book from Giunti but such rudeness in a place that by its nature should be a model of civilization is really unacceptable.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Riuscire a prendere un libro in prestito è diventato quasi impossibile. Bisogna prenotare, ma non è così semplice o immediato. Bisogna stare a regole rigidissime che sembrano fatte apposta per allontanare la gente. Se l obbiettivo è quello di disincentivare la gente a prendere i libri in biblioteca, è riuscitissimo.
Ma io mi domando tutto il personale che lavorava lì dentro che fine ha fatto, cosa fa tutto il giorno? Prende sempre lo stipendio intero a fine mese?
Being able to borrow a book has become almost impossible. You have to book, but it's not that simple or straightforward. You have to stick to very strict rules that seem to be made on purpose to keep people away. If the goal is to discourage people from taking books from the library, it is very successful.
But I wonder what happened to all the staff who worked there, what did they do all day? Do you always get your full salary at the end of the month?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Decisamente la peggior biblioteca mai visitata. Personale scortese, nel 2021 non dispone ancora di wifi decente, le aule studio sono inutilizzabili a causa del sovraffollamento e dell'irrispettosità degli utenti (complice anche l'assenza di controllo da parte del personale), orari di apertura ridicoli. L'unico motivo per cui andarci è perché è l'unica biblioteca di Terni ed è effettivamente in linea con lo spessore culturale della città.
Definitely the worst library ever visited. Rude staff, in 2021 it still does not have decent wifi, study rooms are unusable due to overcrowding and disrespectful users (also due to the lack of control by the staff), ridiculous opening hours. The only reason to go there is because it is the only library in Terni and it is actually in line with the cultural depth of the city.
