La Basilica, però, è solo una parte del gruppo architettonico che conta anche i'ex Monastero Benedettino e il Seminario: uniti, diventano il più grande edificio barocco della città. The only "bad luck" of this church is to be near the famous Cathedral of San Nicolò, one of the symbols of Sicilian Baroque. The Basilica, however, is only a part of the architectural group that also counts the former Benedictine Monastery and the Seminary: united, they become the largest Baroque building in the city.

Wederom een pareltje. De aanwezige gids geeft u graag de nodige uitleg. La chiesa è abbellita con colori e ricami femminili che avrebbero dovuto rendere la permanenza meno dura. Salendo la grande scalinata si arriva su una bellissima torre da cui si domina la città.
