C	Claudio Forgione on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La Basilica di S.Maria Assunta e S.Filippo Neri, l'unica chiesa parrochiale, nella sua cornice barocca evidenzia ancora una lontana cultura romanica, offuscata da stratificazioni varie ma mai distrutta, come testimoniano la struttura dell'abside in conci non squadrati, le colonne in pietra all'interno e gli eleganti rosoni sulla facciata Non si hanno notizie certe sulla sua origine ma gli elementi architettonici emergentifanno risalire questo monumento al secolo XVII (l'mpianto risale però certamente ad epoca precedente). La Chiesa, a croce latina, è a tre navate con quattro archi laterali sorretti da cinque colonne di pietra, l'arco trionfale e il transetto con tre cappelle in corrispondenzadi ciascuna delle navate dedicate al SS.Sacramento, all'Assunta e a S.Filippo. Mentre le navate laterali sono coperte con volte a botte lunettata, quella centrale ed il transetto sono coperti da capriate in legno con controsoffitto ligneo a riquadri dorati ed in parte intagliati. Questa controsoffittatura risale alla seconda metà del Settecento. Le raffigurazioni si rifanno ai culti presenti a Guardia. Gli stucchi barocchi della navata centrale risultano di una grande compostezza, mentre quelli delle cappelle di S. Filippo e del Crocifisso (nove in tutto sono le cappelle) si presentano più ricchi per i disegni e le decorazioni. The Basilica of S.Maria Assunta and S.Filippo Neri, the only parish church, in its baroque frame still highlights a distant Romanesque culture, clouded by various stratifications but never destroyed, as evidenced by the structure of the apse in not squared ashlars, the stone columns inside and the elegant rose windows on the facade There is no certain information on its origin but the emerging architectural elements make this monument date back to the seventeenth century (the plant certainly dates back to the previous era). The Latin cross church has three naves with four lateral arches supported by five stone columns, the triumphal arch and the transept with three chapels corresponding to each of the naves dedicated to the Holy Sacrament, the Assumption and S. Filippo. . While the side aisles are covered with barrel vaults, the central one and the transept are covered by wooden trusses with a wooden false ceiling with gilded and partially carved squares. This false ceiling dates back to the second half of the eighteenth century. The representations refer to the cults present in Guardia. The baroque stuccos of the central nave are of great composure, while those of the chapels of S. Filippo and of the Crucifix (nine in all are the chapels) are richer in their designs and decorations.
