★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a great stay at the Basilica which used to be a monastery and still has a beautiful church on its ground floor.
Our room was simply but tastefully furnished with a very comfortable bed and an invigorating shower in the en suite bathroom.
Breakfast is being served in a conservatory on a fourth floor roof terrace with breathtaking views over the surrounding areas.
There are some excellent restaurants in the vicinity where we enjoyed our evening meals.
Though we did walk to many sights we also made full use of the Metro once the friendly member of staff in reception had shown us that there is a station nearby.
We didn't throw a coin into the Trevi Fountain but fully intend to visit Rome again and stay at this most welcoming hotel.
