★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Si tratta una base in pietra sul cui fronte è scolpita la dedica “A devozione di Bartolomeo Menga – 1893”.
In occasione dei festeggiamento del Santissimo Crocifisso di Colonna, a Maggio, viene organizzata una Via Lucis cittadina per accompagnare il rientro del Crocifisso presso il Monastero.
Questo punto del Lungomare è l'ultima stazione della Via Lucis, dove la Vergine Addolorata incontra il Crocifisso.
Su questa base, dunque, sosta la statua della Madonna Addolorata, che un gruppo di devote porta i spalla dal Monastero, e resta in attesa del Santissimo Crocifisso di Colonna con in quale, dopo la benedizione, rientra chiesa del Monastero di Santa Maria Colonna.
Per questo motivo, questo tratto del Lungomare è detto dai tranesi di una certa età "alla benedizione".
