Dal 1945 al 1960, oltre che agli udinesi, serviva caffè, bicchieri di vino, gelati e partite di briscola agli esuli giuliano dalmati che transitavano per il Centro smistamento profughi, che aveva sede nell'attuale Scuola Fermi.
