Hit and miss with the food. Had lamb chops, grilled vegetables, scallopini, octopus and calamari. Food was lovely except for the calamari - was very sandy. Told the waiter and they just took the plate away. Didn't apologise, didn't offer any response, reimbursement or replacement at all. I suggested they taste it there and then. Didn't happen. Dessert: tiramisu was ok.
The service was friendly but when we paid the bill the waiter came back and told us it was 50€ short. We don't drink alcohol, and my husband does not make mistakes, ever! They made a big fuss and the waiter told us he didn't even go inside with the money to make payment. He was away from the table for about 2mins and out of sight. There were 7 of us at the table. We were well aware that my husband had given €190 for a bill of €178. They forced us to pay the extra €50 and did not discount or refund the sand-filled meal we returned.
In all of Europe we got warned about pickpockets and thieves and this is the first time we have had anything stolen in plain site.
One of our other party had received an inflated and inaccurate bill the night before from a different restaurant. Not being accustomed to the pricing and service payments, he didn't realise they had overcharged him until after he had left.
Such a shame for a lousy ending to what should have been a lovely balmy night with good company and good location. Definitely won't be returning or recommending. There are plenty of others to choose from.
