Sergio e sua moglie per il tempo che ci hanno dedicato guidandoci in un percorso di degustazione veramente spettacolare. Traspare dalle sue parole tutta la passione per la sua famiglia, per la sua terra , per il suo vino, che riesce come per magia a racchiudere in ogni bottiglia. It is always a great pleasure to visit the Barbaglia winery. We thank in particular Mr. Sergio and his wife for the time they have dedicated to us guiding us on a truly spectacular tasting itinerary. His words show all the passion for his family, for his land, for his wine, which he manages to enclose in every bottle as if by magic. In each tasting an explosion of sensations, of taste, of perfumes. A special greeting to his daughter Silvia whom we hope to meet on our next visit.

Her passion for the area and its history was unmatched, and I appreciated her taking time out of her crazy schedule to show a small customer around and share some delicious cheese pairings with their variety of wines. Barbaglia is particularly unique in that it offers not just a great, classic Boca, but also single varietal bottlings of all the indigenous grapes, including croatina, uva rara, and vespolina -- which is great for understanding the components of their Boca and also for having some tasty, less-expensive bottles. AND they do numerous sparkling whites in methodo classico -- these were really lovely and well done.

If you will be in the Piemonte, it is worth it to contact Silvia and set up a tasting. You will learn about their grapes, the soil, and the history of the area - while eating local treats and drinking irresistible wines. You will see their winemaking equipment and their giant barrels. This is a highlight of the Piemonte area! We live in a winery area in California and we go wine tasting all the time - we all were impressed with Barbaglia wines and hospitality (4 Americans and 2 Swiss).
