★ ★ ★ ★ ★ the worst bus company ever in the world! Better transport in Egypt and Turkey than in Italy, i'm really dissapointed of visiting your country and Sicilia, you should be embarrased!!! Bus from Etna left at 3pm shoud at 4.30 , no one told us in the morning that , we had to pay 120€ for taxi to Catania from etna. Never ever.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Terrible! Overbooked the bus and tried to force me to pay more. Needed to sttrugle with the drive and then went standing for 1h till Rifugio Sapienza. Be aware! They put an unnofficial guide (half bald guy) inside the bus who is also unfair. If you can, avoid them!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The "broker/guide" they put on the bus is shady. We were at the bus stop 30+ minutes before departure and he says he's translating for the diver. I explain I was told I could buy a ticket on the bus and he says "No problem, we can make ticket on the bus". He also told this to others. Then, half way through the trip he announces that those without a ticket should "prepare their 6.60€". He comes around with a handheld ticket machine, takes our money and explains that the machine can't make a ticket but its no problem he'll send the information to the main office. Huh? So I get no ticket and no receipt (which I believe is illegal in Italy). He goes on to explain that I should have had a ticket beforehand and that he was doing it as a "courtesy" to me. After another discussion with this guy at the mid-point stopover some other statements didn't quite add up (i.e. "We reserve 5 seats for those with no tickets" - There were 8 by my count) . I have to conclude this guy is just pocketing the "make ticket on the bus" money. That stated, the driver did a fine job, bus left a little late on departure/return was prompt, and for the cost I think this represents good value. I'd say buy your ticket beforehand (I now know the office is across the street), avoid dealing with this shady character, take the trip and enjoy Mount Etna - It's beautiful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is very bad that this is the only bus company which goes from Catani to Etna. The way takes two hours because there is more than half an hour pause to have a coffee we didn't want! The driver was sneezing and caughing all the time and he didn't borther to wear a face mask! ?
If we could choose we would pick another way to get to Etna...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ You can buy a ticket here to Etna, which departures at 8:15 (stand nr 6) and returns from Etna at 4:30. You have to be a little bit earlier. The service is great and very helpful. Enzo driver is very nice! :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It’s great to read other reviews and be prepared for everything. Fortunately our experience with Catania-Etna line is good - fast ticket purchase, priority for boarding, no delay, no stop in Nicolosi and comfortable buses. The only trouble was a weak air conditioning on the way up. Anyway I can recommend to buy tickets in the office rather than on board and get a prority (not a seat reservation).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There are only 2 buses driving to Etna from Catania, one at 8.15 second at 11. Tickets can be bought only in ticket office (234 Via don Luigi Sturzo) or on tobaco shops (there are couple of those around central station - look for AST sticker on windows) no possibility to buy them on the bus. Ticket office was opened at 6 AM on Monday, don't believe that it's opened from 10 AM. Be prepared that no one talks in english and they won't even try to communicate without you. Bus stops in front od the central station (blue pales with white numbers on black). Our stopped at station number 6. It supposed to have sheet with printed Etna on it on front od bus window. It is worth to be 15 minutes before leave as there are many people who wanted to go but not everyone got on the bus.
