★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Contignano è un piccolo borgo nel comune di Radicofani; siamo nella parte alta della Val d'Orcia. Bisogna venirci una sera d'estate, a sentire cantare le cicale nel silenzio, con il vento che porta il profumo del mare.
Contignano is a small village in the municipality of Radicofani; we are in the upper part of the Val d'Orcia. You have to come one summer evening, to hear the cicadas sing in the silence, with the wind that carries the scent of the sea.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Metto 5 stelle perché non potrei dare di meno!!ci vado tutti gli anni alla sagra del raviolo..UNO SPETTACOLO E UNA BONTÀ DA PIPPA(se si può scrivere??)organizzata benissimo!!tranquilli anche si vedono file chilometriche non scoraggiatevi... sono velocissimi!!ovviamente possibilità di scegliere piatti alternativi come Cacio e pere,salsicce,fagioli all'uccelletto???e tanto ancora!!!Andateci andateci andateci sarà una goduria per il palato!!

I go there every year to the festival of the raviolo..A SPECTACLE AND A GOODNESS FROM PIPPA (if you can write !!) very well organized !! quiet even you see rows of miles do not be discouraged. .. they are very fast !! obviously possibility to choose alternative dishes like Cacio e pere, sausages, beans all'uccelletto???e much more !!! Go there go there will be a pleasure for the palate !!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sagra del raviolo...sinceramente, considerando le aspettative create attorno a questo piatto, son rimasto deluso sfoglia grossolana e ripieno troppo secco. Mentre la carne è stata una scoperta fantastica. Sicuramente tornerò per la carne, per me sarà la sagra della bistecca!
Ravioli Festival ... honestly, considering the expectations created around this dish, I was disappointed with the coarse pastry and the filling too dry. While the meat was a fantastic find. I will definitely come back for the meat, for me it will be the steak festival!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ È un paesino caratteristico toscano, il centro storico è un gioiello, la gente ospitale, nei giorni di Ferragosto si organizza una festa di musica, gastronomia e gare podistiche. Da non perdere assolutamente la sagra del raviolo, con un menù ottimo a base di cucina locale e disposizione dei tavolini intorno alla Piazza del Pozzo in un'atmosfera meravigliosa.
It is a characteristic Tuscan village, the historic center is a jewel, the people hospitable, a festival of music, gastronomy and foot races is organized in the days of August 15th. Absolutely not to be missed is the raviolo festival, with an excellent menu based on local cuisine and arrangement of tables around the Piazza del Pozzo in a wonderful atmosphere.

Da visitare il caseificio sociale con vari tipi di pecorino a prezzi speciali!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Contignano è un piccolo fortificato di origine medievale situato lungo una della tante varianti della cosiddetta "Via Francigena" in Val d'Orcia. Sono tutt'oggi visibili i resti di un'alta torre in parte rimaneggiata (trattasi con ogni probabilità del vecchio cassero), una porta di accesso e parte delle mura. Il borgo è molto ben curato, non vi sono case abbandonate o interventi edilizi scriteriati di epoca moderna.
Contignano is a small fortified area of medieval origin located along one of the many variants of the so-called "Via Francigena" in the Val d'Orcia. The remains of a high tower in part remodeled (in all probability the old quarterdeck), an access door and part of the walls are still visible. The village is very well cared for, there are no abandoned houses or reckless building works of the modern era.
