β β β β β Nice little church where several legends about a painting of the madonna which was either framed in a window, or stored in a window frame, came to light during a restoration in the 16th century. The painting was moved to a small chapel where it is known that St Francis preached. And it is here it is said that Bishop Rosimanno Cassamassima either restored or reconstructed a church placing the famed painting inside it. The church became know as St Marys of the windows. In 1900 the church was replaced with the current one, and in a niche there is a bell that St Francis used to call the people when he preached.
