Probably one of the best restaurants in the valley even though its a one star Michelin should be much more. Egon the sommelier introduced us to probably the most amazing rare wines with our dinner. Its been 5 years in a row and every year just gets better and better

Out of 6 courses at Anna Stuben I can only remember a couple of them. The bouche wasn’t really amusing. The sous-vide amberjack (why not raw or charred) was bland and dominated by a drop of spicy gazpacho and confused with a slice of watermelon. The blue lobster, although perfectly cooked, was served with beans and grapefruit. The main, a venison saddle, again — perfectly cooked, was embarassed by a potato tart and a cabbage-speck combo that was flavorless-smoky. None of these dishes seemed like they were cohesive wholes that belong with one another on the plate. It was like watching a disappointing movie with a star actor, instead of their earlier work where they were supported by other great characters in a compelling story. One of the starters I can remember and write home about was — a bit on the safe side — a Parmiggiano risotto with tomato, lemon and basil. Technically perfect and packed with flavour. More, please! The pre-dessert, mango cubes with a pine needle ice cream was yum! Kudos to using something very on brand with where we are. The mango-caramel-whipped cream thing was just mango and not much else. It’s South Tirol in June, for crying out loud. Aren’t there berries, local cheese and herbs ready to be used? Bombons were flawless. The strawberry curry macaron melted in my mouth and etched itself in my brain. Very cool. The head waiter, Egon, doubling as the sommelier, was absolutely amazing. He completely sucked us us into his passion for the local wine region and taught us a lot about it. I like well prepared flavourful food made with local, seasonal ingredients. All the better if it manages to suprise and delight! For a fine-dining restaurant with a Michelin star, though, despite the technical skills and plenty of gels and foams, the dinner at Anna Stuben fell short in probably the most important aspect of any meal: flavour.

Tonight again Anna Stuben managed to take me into a foodie's nirvana thanks to the fantastic food that transforms local ingredients and design elements to gourmet fare matching highest standards of cities like London and New York, the beautiful setting, and last not least the impeccable and warm service of the superb Sommelier Egon Perathoner who truly masters the high art of perfectly matching food and wine. One wishes the tasting menus would never end!!! Thank you for the great evening!

If you judge by the visual side, Anna is certainly a Michelin Star resturant. The rating is based on the gap between the visual side and the experience and taste. Every resturant may fail or not excel in one or two of an 8 course meal. Even a Michelin Star resturant. But Anna sadly hardly excelled on any of the dishes. Starting from the actual push to a six course meal, to bread that wasn’t fresh to choice of ingredients that felt “smart” but failed to deliver the experience. Something ,very sadly, doesn’t work at Anna. Gur

A feast for the eyes a nightmare for the wallet. It was a great experience - the service was amazing (best service we ever had), the food ranged from very tasty to amazing, and was really a feast for the eyes. The atmosphere was very nice. It is our first time in such a restaurant (Michelin star level), and even tough the price was really high, it was an excellent value for money. A great restaurant!

Absolutely wonderful experience! I live in the US, so I had to email a few weeks in advance to make a reservation and communicating with the restaurant was very simple and helpful. The service we received was superb and the food was very delicious. The given appetizers, the gnocchi and the kiwi dessert were all impeccable. I definitely recommend this restaurant for a high-end, classy, and well-refined experience.
